Helen Welsh has lived in Scotland from the age of two. Her life has been somewhat eventful, involving lots of moving around, both planned and unplanned. She has worked as an educator, social worker, cook, trainer, and researcher. Her lifelong love of food and drink led to the publication of her most recent book, 'A Life in Mouthfuls: Scottish Food and Drink Memories'. However she has been writing for 30 years, and now semi-retired she is working her way steadily through her backlist, bringing them to the market one by screaming one. When not excavating for words, she can be found cooking, eating, drinking, reading and working as a tour guide in her local distillery.
