Roger P. Harrie

I am a professor of ophthalmology at the Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah where I am actively engaged in teaching, research, and patient care. My wife has a masters degree in community health nursing and together we have done vision projects in over 20 countries. We have 8 children scattered over the US from Washington DC to Anchorage, Alaska and 14 grandchildren. I wrote this book: Doctor, I Have An Ant In My Eye to chart my journey to become an ophthalmologist using the stories of patients and their challenges with eye problems. All of the proceeds from the sale of this book will be used to support our work at the Salt Lake Country youth detention center in doing eye exams and giving glasses to kids in need.
