Andrew Jenkinson

Andrew Jenkinson is the UK’s top caravan historian and journalist, he has written Motorhomes The Illustrated History, Caravans The Illustrated History two volumes 1919-1959 / 1960 to 2000. Also his caravan testing for UK magazines spawned the book Touring Caravan Used Buyers Guide also I-Spy Caravans & Motorhomes. Andrew has contributed to various caravan history books and is the author of The Sprite Caravans Story his latest offering for 2011. Andrew also consults to J.Salmon Publishers for Classic Caravanning Scenes Calendars.

In 2014 he wrote Touring Caravans by Shire publications following up this with Micro Caravans and Motorhomes in 2017. Andrew was also to work on three new books two to be published in 2017 the other early 2018. These books published by Amberley Publishing included the following; Caravans International Story July 2017 / The Eccles Caravan Story September 2017 / and his latest book Swift Caravans published January 2018.

Andrew has several more book projects in the pipeline but also he has written eight caravan manufacturer histories - Swift, Adria, Elddis, Bailey, Avondale, Bessacarr, Willerby, Coachman and Witter Tow Bars. He is very well known in the industry and has a facebook page plus he tests tourers, motorhomes, cars and park and holiday homes. He does site reports and all things new and old in caravans, holiday homes and motorhomes.

There have been 14 new books published from Motorhomes to Static Caravan histories, and new for 2022 I had the History Press publication The Touring Caravan Story to complement the other two books #historypress i wrote for them all avalaible on Amazon.co.uk. In November 2022 a new book The Visual History of the Caravan is published now available to pre order for the 30th on Amazon.co.uk - Following on in December is Caravanning in the 1970's publication date the 15th - again now available for pre-order on Amazon.
