Desmond John Evans

Born in Birmingham UK. Educated at normal State Schools. Enlisted Royal Air Force in 1942 as a Flight Mechanic working on Lancaster Bombers. Left the RAF in February 1947 to return home. Married the girl next door. We have a Son and a Daughter. Between them they have given us seven grandchildren, We moved from Birmingham in 1963 to settle here in Much Wenlock Shropshire.

My first attempt to write was in 1981. We were in process of moving houses, so had to put that attempt om the back burner. In June 2006 my opportunity came at the age of 81 when my first book, now redeemed from the attic and re-written was accepted by Athena Press. I did at my wifes suggestion change the title from`A Course for Investigation` to `Death is a Member` My second book of the trilogy `Murder in the Ascendant` was completed in 2008 and now my third book ` `When the Hammer Falls` is ready for the publishers.

As I started my first book in 1981 I suppose theoretically it took me twenty five years to get it published.However I had so many projects on the go including moving house a couple times, I really had no time to pursue my ambition to be a writer. In June 2006 at the age of 81 my opportunity came and I dug out my old manuscript, brushed it up and submitted it to Athena Press. My second book was completely different. I sat down with no real format in mind and started to type on my newly acquired computer, I promised myself I would let my thoughts go wild and follow my instincts and somehow inspiration seemed to flow in and I completed `Murder in the Ascendant` in about four months. As to my third book of the trilogy `When the Hammer Falls`` I have followed a theme that had been running through my mind and with it I have incorporated a sub plot involving a Priest.
