Peter McManners' new book 'Ultra running into Retirement'. The idea arose out of a project to enter the Marathon Des Sables to mark his sixtieth birthday. That was back in 2018, he has now completed many ultra-running events including the Ultra Trail Mont Blanc (UTMB). This book is aimed at a wide audience championing ultra-running without age limitations.

In his professional life, Peter McManners has written extensively on sustainability and the environment. After a successful career in both the public and private sectors he was appointed as a Visiting Fellow of Henley Business School, Reading University. He is a regular speaker at events ranging from green and environmental forums to business sustainability events and conferences including the London School of Economics; Saïd Business School, Oxford University and the World Sustainability Forum.

He first started writing about the environment in 2002 with a prize-winning entry in the Oxford Science Writing competition titled 'Is Carbon the Culprit?' He had own column in Sustainable Business magazine from 2008 until 2012. He presents ideas at the leading edge of sustainability. The book' Face up to Climate Change' (2021) is not only a call for action but provides the blueprint for the way out of the climate crisis. His text book 'Essentials of Sustainability for Business' remains at the forefront of current thinking and is a standard text for for Business School teaching. The book 'Resilient Economics' (2022) provides a framework for the effective application of sustainability economics.
