Paula Manley

My name is Paula Manley and I have a background in science and technical writing, and write books that combine science with magic and adventure.

I felt inspired to write my first children's book "The Land at The End of the Garden" several years ago, just after the birth of my son. It featured a boy who discovered a magical world at the end of his garden, and had him creatively solving issues that appeared in the magical world; combining logic and science with fantasy.

More recently I have written two other Children's fiction books as part of a series - "The Spirit Travellers". Currently consisting of two books, these stories chronicle the adventures of two time travelling children. The characters are based on my own two children, and follows the adventures they have when they find a mysterious time-travelling device. Not only do they flick around in time, but they also follow the trail of mysterious professor, who invented the device.

I have also just released a "Myths and Legends of Cheshire" book that tells the folklore and history of the wonderful county of Cheshire. These stories are also part of the adventures in the "Spirit Travellers" books. The myths an legends include highwaymen, wizards, ghosts, battles, strange old Cheshire customs, plus much more.
