Andrea Perry

Who is Andrea Perry? A children's author of zany and outrageous characters and inventions including a Crumbunny, Puzzle Piece Eater, Scary Hair Fairy, and Filbert's Footsie Floss, this author's most recent picture book slows things down just a bit to tell the tale of the Bicklebys' beloved bird bath. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and raised on a steady diet of Dr. Seuss, but now living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Jupiter, Florida, Andrea is a lover of all things rhymed. After publishing rhymed verse with a host of children's magazines, she was finally discovered by a delightful editor at Atheneum, Caitlyn Dlouhy. Ms. Dlouhy brought her outrageous rhymes to a much larger audience. Andrea's poetry collections 'Here's What You Do When You Can't Find Your Shoe' and 'The Snack Smasher' have been enjoyed by legions of school children who she is hoping will also fall in love with 'The Bicklebys' Bird Bath.'

Who knows? Perhaps someday as she keeps on writing she may find that elusive word that actually rhymes with "orange!"
