Christine Evain

Christine Evain’s love affair with words, languages and literature began as a child and teenager when she travelled and lived with her family in both the United States and Germany learnt to speak both English and German fluently. Her love of England and English language literature, coupled with her love of nature and wide open spaces which she developed in the USA drew her towards Canadian writers and their experience of the wilderness and how it shapes people and their communities. It’s little wonder that having initially studied business and commerce that she eventually followed her true vocation and did a PhD in Canadian literature, becoming completely absorbed by writers such as Margaret Atwood, Mavis Gallant, Alice Munro and Alistair MacLeod.
