Glenn Turner

Glenn Turner played 41 Tests and 41 ODIs during a career in which he became the only New Zealander to score 100 (103) first-class centuries. In his career of 455 games for New Zealand, Worcestershire in England and Otago and Northern Districts in New Zealand, he scored 2991 Test runs at 44.64 and 34,346 first-class runs at 49.70. He also played in 195 one-day matches.

He captained New Zealand, Worcestershire, Otago, Northern Districts and International Wanderers teams. He laid the foundations that enabled future New Zealand players to pursue professional careers. He was twice coach to the national team, including the only Test series victory on Australian soil in 1985, and to World Cups in 1987 and 1996. He also had several stints coaching Otago and was a national selector for 15 years.
