Geert Lernout

Geert Lernout studied in Antwerp, Dublin and Toronto. He has written books in English on James Joyce and Friedrich Hölderlin; in Dutch on the history of the book, on religious writings and on Bach's Goldberg Variations. At present he teaches comparative literature at the University of Antwerp, where he is director of the James Joyce Centre. He is a trustee of the International James Joyce Foundation and a member of the Academia Europaea.
