I am lecturer in horticulture at Wakefield College who has an interest in growing fruit and vegetables with a special interest in heritage varieties and ones which are more challenging to grow.

My first book is on the history of and techniques for growing melons and watermelons in UK and Northern climates. The cucurbit family also includes pumpkins, squashes, cucumbers and some rarer members like the shark fin melon and luffa and they are too good to miss out so they are included as well. The book also contains a variety of interesting recipes for you to try.
