Ian Rory Owen PhD worked as a Principal Psychotherapist in the UK's National Health Service until 2021 when he retired. He had practised since 1987 in a variety of ways with people with severe and enduring complex psychological problems. He was previously a Registered Psychotherapist with the UK Council for Psychotherapy humanistic and integrative section and had Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society. He was previously a Senior Lecturer in Counselling Psychology at Wolverhampton University, UK. He has 80 peer reviewed papers in internationally renowned journals and is the author of five books on the theory and practice of integrative psychotherapy and attachment theory in clinical practice. His specific stance is to use phenomenology to integrate cognitive behavioural and psychodynamic approaches.
