Stephen Tyndale-Biscoe

Stephen Tyndale-Biscoe, born in Madras State, India,1943, is the son, grandson, great-grandson and great-great grandson of Church of England clergymen.

His ancentral line includes three of Edward III's children - John of Gaunt (Duke of Lancaster), Thomas of Woodstock (Duke of Gloucester) and Isabel - also Elizabeth Wydville, wife of Edward IV, and various others whose status and attainments show how meaningless a blood line is when a descendant of theirs in the 21st Century can be as singularly undistinguiished as Stephen.

A journalist all his working life, he sometimes invented ingenius contraptions which he alone could operate.

His philosophy of life, based on the principle that you never know when you might need a spoon, ensured he was never hungry for long, even with people who didn't much want to share their food.
