Stuart Green graduated in civil engineering from the University of Birmingham prior to gaining experience with a UK national contractor. He subsequently gained a masters degree from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh and a PhD from the University of Reading. Thereafter he progressed through the ranks of academia before being appointed professor of construction management at the University of Reading (UK) in 2002. He has since served in several leadership roles within the university, including Head of the School of Built Environment (2010-2017).
Stuart writes about the construction sector with the benefit of over 30 years’ experience in policy engagement, research, and applied consultancy. Over the course of his career he has secured significant research funding from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), much of which has been delivered in collaboration with industry. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE), and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building (FCIOB).
