Candida Slater

I am a writer, an ex-diplomat and the widow of a British diplomat. My first book, Good Manners and Bad Behaviour, available from Kindle and as a paperback from troubador.com, was published in 2008. My second book the Tears of Feisal, draws on the years that I spent in the Arabian Gulf. The area has changed enormously in the thirty years since we lived there, as I found on a recent visit However, the fundamentals remain the same and adventure stories are timeless and exist within their own rules so I hope I can be forgiven for portraying a vanished world.

I have three children and six grandchildren. My day job is helping to look after the grandchildren, which is wonderful, exhilarating, totally exhausting and a constant source of laughter. I understand it adds years to your life, but this may just be propaganda on behalf of their parents.
