Mark A. O'Connell is a native of Salem, Virginia and relocated to central Virginia in 1988. He has always loved sports and history and his most recent book, "The Team the Titans Remember", tells the true story about Virginia's 1971 Group AAA state football championship and season, and chronicles the glory years of Andrew Lewis High School which was the team that played the Titans but was not mentioned in the famous movie. O'Connell has worked part-time as a sports journalist and commentator since 1998. He also retired three years ago from his full-time profession as an Adult Probation and Parole Officer and soon published the first of his three books, "Criminal Minds in Real Time", and soon followed with "Justice Denied." He is currently working on the sequel to "The Team the Titans Remember." He is married and has three adult children. His other hobbies include hiking/walking, playing tennis, and motorcycling.
