My name is Al Bohl. I’ve worked as an artist, author, educator, and filmmaker for nearly fifty years. I’m very excited about sharing my books with you. I now have books available for AGES 1-18.
BUBBLES UP! it is a children’s book for AGES 1-6 about KK the sea monkey and Uny the unicorn sea horse as they have fun with bubbles and learn about numbers, colors, and shapes. I plan on continuing this series. It is so much fun to do.
For ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AGE kids I have TALES FROM THE BAYOU: A SIMPLE CURE. This is a fully illustrated chapter book. Mystery and adventure abound down in the jungle swamp. Little Renny Raccoon is afflicted with a bad case of the "hic-cum-ups!" The cure is said to be a simple one but he soon learns that nothing is ever as simple as it seems. Join Renny and his friends in this first of many quests as they learn to live, laugh, and love.
Also, recently I released through Kindle the five episodes in ebook and paperback about the exciting exploits of Zaanan. These books for AGES 8-18 have been compiled into three books. Volume One has the first two episodes "The Fatal Limit" and "The Dream of Delosar." Volume Two has the third and fourth episodes "The Ransom of Renaissance" and "Conflict on Cada-Maylon." The last book thus far is Episode five "The Mermen of Immersia." The first two volumes have an illustration and text on each page. Mermen has text with some illustrations. Zaanan is a Talgent Warrior 500 years into our future where the earth is dominated by a global government called Sphere.
Our feature length documentary Tarzan: Lord of the Louisiana Jungle and our re-edit of the original 1918 silent film Tarzan of the Apes can be seen on Amazon Prime. The documentary tells the story of the making of this Tarzan film in Morgan City, Louisiana. It is quite an interesting story of mystery and adventure. Through the years the original film had been edited so much that it was all out of sequence when we got a digital version. We recut it to follow the book by Edgar Rice Burroughs and added an entirely new orchestral score written by Kermit Poling. I’m very happy for the response we’ve had from around the world.
Currently, I'm developing and shooting an art instructional series for Youtube called Artventureworld. I have one finished and raw footage for about eight or nine shows done. The goal is to teach how to draw, paint and animate. I'm retired now but for the last eight years I taught a course I developed called Gen4 Animation Course in public schools. This not only included animation but how to paint and draw.
I live in Bossier City, Louisiana with my wife Doris. We have three grown children and five grandchildren.
