Tapan Munroe is a well known author,adviser on economics,newspaper columnist, and radio and TV commentator.His areas of expertise include study of Innovation,and analysis of high-tech regions such as Silicon Valley,San Diego,and Energy Economics.He has a PhD in Economics from the University of Colorado,Boulder.
He has been a visiting scholar at MIT,and University of Augsburg, and the Kiriyama Distinguished Professor for Asian Studies at the University of San Francisco.He served as the chair and professor of the economics department at the University of the Pacific in Stockton,California.He was the Chief Economist for the Pacific Gas & Electric Company in San Francisco for nearly a decade.He has also served on the board of a bank.He is a lifelong member of the board of advisers at the Center for Pacific Rim Studies at the University of San Francisco.
