Brian Brown

I have spent the last thirty-odd years teaching in the UK’s higher education system and have managed to carve out a little time in the small hours of the night for writing – you’ll notice that Amazon carries some of my books, or at least those that are not out of print. My interests have ranged over language and communication in health, gender and sexuality, the cultural history of Wales and the role of the arts and humanities in fostering wellbeing and enabling recovery. As an academic, most of my output has taken the form of articles in technical journals, but I enjoy writing books as you can be a little more free with the ideas, stories and examples and put more personality into them. In my spare time away from the computer screen or the classroom I have dabbled in a variety of building and construction activities, as well as community arts, and these last few years have devoted myself to planting trees. I hope to live long enough to see the forest canopy close above my head, and see a little bit of my beloved Wales transforming into woodland
