I love to write funny children's books. Over the years I have been lucky enough to share childrens' enjoyment in my books by attending schools. I've also received some great reviews, awards and media coverage. My books have been translated into French, Spanish, German and Russian.

The world is a nutty place, so everything in daily life provides some inspiration for the wacky characters in my books - even my serious day job. The really strange thing is that some of the craziest and funniest ideas have popped into my head while I've been working on something completely unrelated to children's books!

As far as children's books go, I primarily write what I think my young family and their friends would like and find funny. My tales aren't the epic sweeping sagas that remain so popular with the major publishers, or full of angst, they are there to entertain and hopefully, bring the joy of reading to life for children and their families.

I'm always interested in working with schools on literacy and reading projects, so if you are a teacher or educator and you are looking to work with an author please get in contact.

My professional background is in the world of science and medicine, so I also write about that too. I have written and edited a number of textbooks. Don't expect any of my wacky children's book characters to turn up in those books though!
