David Ross's latest books are:

'CROWDED HOUSES,' the story of UK & European football attendances, their rise and fall and rise again. Every country in UEFA is covered as are lower divisions and non-league. Attendance tables - many going back to the 1940s - are included as are details of capacity and occupancy and an analysis of how the increase in live television has affected the game.

'GAFFERS,' an A-Z of Scottish football managers from the first team bosses back in the 1890s right up to the 2010s. World famous gaffers like Alex Ferguson & Jock Stein are covered extensively but lower league bosses and temporary 'caretaker' managers are featured too. This is the only book ever dedicated to the history of Scottish football bosses and a landmark reference work.

'1966: Sport's FORGOTTEN Year' - the story of the great sporting events of a tumultuous year which have largely been forgotten thanks to the World Cup that year.

'Barca - The Year of Living Gloriously' - a first hand, match-by-match account of FC Barcelona's all-conquering glory years of 2008-2009 when the Catalan club won all six major trophies they contested.

David is a football (soccer) historian and writer. He is also the author of 'ROAR Of The Crowd', 'Everygame', 'Killie Greats', 'Killie -- The Official History,' 'Very Heaven' and 'Simply The Best.' He is also co-author (with Forrest Robertson) of 'The First 100 years of Hampden' - the official history of Hampden Park. David has written for a variety of football publications both in the UK and abroad. He is the only person ever to appear on the BBC TV programme 'MASTERMIND' to take British football as a specialist subject. He also appeared on ITV's 'The People Versus' where he successfully answered questions on 'Scottish Club Football since 1874.'

A freelance writer and journalist, David has written for newspapers and magazines for many years. He has been writing online since 1997 and was responsible for establishing a creative digital technology network for freelancers and small businesses in Cornwall. He was also a local Councillor in Middlesbrough in North-East England for over a decade and is a former parliamentary candidate for the Labour Party.

Born in Dundonald, Ayrshire in Scotland, educated at Marr College in Troon, Kilmarnock Academy and the University of Teesside, he has been a Kilmarnock supporter all his life. Having lived in Scotland, Teesside, London, Cornwall, County Durham, Spain and Sussex at various times, David now lives back in Cornwall with his wife, journalist and psychologist Josephine Gardiner.
