Jyl Benson

Biography

Jyl Benson began her editorial career in 1990 with The Times Picayune and served as a regional reporter covering the southeastern United States for

both The New York Times and Time magazine. She currently serves as Director of Culinary Programming for the Southern Food & Beverage Institute, as a columnist for both St. Charles Avenue and Acadiana Profile magazines, as a Roving Reporter for “Louisiana Eats!,” and as a Contributor to a number of print and on-line publications including The Advocate and New Orleans magazine.
