Francis P. Gallagher

Francis Gallagher is a writer from County Down in Ireland. He is the author of two books: Thomas Russell and the Irish rising of 1803 (pub: 2003) and New Ireland on a Napkin: a political framework for the future (pub: 2021). He is very interested in Irish history and contemporary politics. In his most recent book, the author gives us a radical and progressive vision for a future Ireland. Building on his experience in the highly regarded New Ireland Group, the author presents the case for a unitary confederal Ireland, influenced by the Swiss system of participatory democracy. A civic way is shown about how to build consensus and confidence for a New Ireland among all the people. Francis says if you cannot write your ideas for any project on a napkin, then they are too complicated. It should be fun and don't forget to have a cappuccino at hand.
