Larry Allen

Larry Allen is a retired professor of economics. Aside from academic training leading to a Ph.D. in economics, his writings draw upon 30 years experience teaching economics and airing economic issues with students. Words such as "rich", "insightful" and "informed-detachment" have been used to describe his work. Italian and Turkish translations of the Global Financial System: 1750-2000 have passed into second editions. The Eastern Economic Journal and the Library Journal have published reviews of his work. In addition to writing books, Larry Allen has authored or coauthored several articles in academic journals. His books represent purely economic history studies, but the methodologies represented in his articles range from pure mathematics to in depth econometrics. He has also contributed to ABC-CLIO's twenty-one volume World History Encyclopedia, and edited articles for the Microsoft Encarta Reference Library.
