Kelly Ann McLaughlin

Kelly Ann McLaughlin began writing full-time in 2002. Besides writing, she is also an avid reader who dearly loves her three Boston Terriers.

Her novels are best known for richly describing the settings that surround her characters. Readers feel like they are really there, no matter what era the story takes place in.

Her first novel, Phiandra and Hercules, is a love story about the Ancient Greek Hero with a tormented soul who would like nothing more than to settle down and retire with the beautiful young Phiandra.

Her second novel, Merman’s Redemption, is about Kevin, an ostracized dentist, and Anna, who is on the verge of suicide. While Kevin tries to help Anna overcome grief and personal tragedy, Anna tries to figure out Kevin's odd idiosyncracies involving the ocean. The setting is a small beach town in Southern Mexico, where the "Day of the Dead" is widely celebrated and impacts both of their lives.

Jungle Fates is her third novel, wherein betrayal and heartbreak are suddenly revisited between Nate and Carrie, two graduate students who dated and fell in love in college. When Carrie shows up at Nate's eco-tourism compound in Costa Rica, she can't help but feel that he stole her idea, down to the design on the shirts and socks. Can an ancient Mayan love Goddess intervene and help them rekindle the feelings they had for each other years ago?

Her fourth novel, Isla and Ajax, is a love story between the infamous Greek warrior and a beautiful young healer. Set during the Trojan War, both Isla and Ajax watch as life changing events unfold during the battle for Troy. Each time Ajax departs for the shores of Ilium, Isla fears she will never see him again. But when her past catches up to her and she is taken from him, he turns his back on his family and his duty to go after her. When the war comes to its tragic end, will Isla be able to conjure the healing powers needed to save his life?

Rook is Kelly Ann's first futuristic novel, which also touches on the ancient Greek. When Artemis, a woman known to all, finds Rook dying in the desert, she tries to heal him and show him that helping others is not only rewarding, but necessary. When he is challenged however, by those who turned him into a wild, fighting machine, will his animal instincts take over his mind and body once more? Or will he become the man Artemis knows is locked inside of him, especially when her life depends upon it?
