Richard L. Hester

Richard Hester is professor of pastoral theology, retired, from Phillips Theological Seminary, Tulsa, OK, and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, NC. He is co-author of Know Your Story and Lead with It: The Power of Narrative in Clergy Leadership (2009). In 1987-88 he led the Southeastern Seminary faculty opposition to the fundamentalist control of the school. He completed his career as senior therapist at Triangle Pastoral Counseling (TPC), Raleigh, NC, where he established the Narrative Therapy Seminar. Hester retired from TPC in 2012. The Narrative Therapy Seminar has continued under the leadership of Jack McKinney and is now in its 26th year.
