William H. Pearson

Will Pearson was born in 1956 and grew up in North Carolina and Florida. For twenty years, he was a professor at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he ran an internationally-recognized program in synthetic organic chemistry. He was an award-winning teacher as well as a popular instructor of continuing education courses in the pharmaceutical industry, especially in the field of heterocyclic chemistry.  He was also a consultant at chemical, pharmaceutical, and agricultural companies for most of his academic career.

Post-academia, he was the executive responsible for research and development activities at a company specializing in nucleic acids chemistry.  He is now the founder of Will Pearson Coaching.  There, he combines his science background with years of mentorship and leadership experience to provide effective one-on-one support for leaders in science, technology, and engineering. He has studied successful science leaders and learned what measurable, validated, alterable leadership qualities promote a climate of collaboration and innovation.
