Jonathan D. Clemins

Jonathan D. Clemins, 22, is from Oak Hill, West Virginia. He is an expert in fire and arson investigations and a nationally certified fire and explosion investigator. He is a graduate of Mountain State University in Beckley, WV, with a Bachelor's Degree in Forensic Science and holds a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from Marshall University. Clemins' interests include fire, arson, and explosion investigation, friction ridge skin, research methods, and criminological theory.

Clemins is an active member of the International Association of Arson Investigators, National Association of Fire Investigators, National Fire Protection Association, and Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. He actively travels the country speaking on fire, arson, and explosion investigations. His most recent lecture entitled, "Arson and Offender Characteristics," occurred during an Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences conference in Boston, Massachusetts.

When not focusing his energies on academia, Clemins enjoys spending time with family, archery, hunting, and fishing. In the future, he plans to conduct research into the collection and preservation of fingerprint evidence in fire and explosion incidents and examine the application of profiling arsonists in criminal investigations .He also plans to write additional books such as the, History of West Virginia Firefighting, History of Crime, and a practical fire and arson investigation textbook.
