Devin Robinson is an author, activist, speaker, columnist and lecturer. He is a professor at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia and spends most of his time travelling as a guest lecturer and speaker. He has been a Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper columnist since 2003 for the Daily News newspaper. He struggled as a youth making the right decisions. He was arrested 5 times by age 17 and almost died undergoing police brutality at age 15. His ability to perform academically saved him upon his high school graduation when a juvenile judge gave him the option to serve in the U.S. Army or face possible jail time. He served 6.5 years in the U.S. Army before being honorably discharged as an Airborne Non-Commissioned Officer in 1998.
He went on to become the founder of Going Against the Grain Group, the parent company of Taking it Back University, Going Against the Grain Publications, Going Against the Grain Peace Coalition and Going Against the Grain Development Institute. His company develops material that serves to uplift and inspire individuals to maximize their potential using very relevant practical and applicable information. He is a compelling author and engaging speaker with an inspiring life story who continues to work for people who desire to overcome obstacles and change their lives for the better.
He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, a Masters Degree in Business Administration and enrolled in Doctoral Studies in Business Marketing. He currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
