Edward Cuddihy

Edward Cuddihy is a retired managing editor of the Buffalo News, Buffalo, NY. Born in Buffalo (1940 - ), he attended Bishop Timon High School in South Buffalo, and received a BA from Quincy (Ill.) College, where he was editor of the student newspaper (1961) and president of the honor society (1962). He joined the Buffalo News staff in 1962, following summer internships, as a reporter, and held positions of city editor, assistant managing editor, deputy managing editor and managing editor. Cuddihy was president of the New York State Associated Press Association in 1991, and a member of the state Board of Directors for several years. He has been a lecturer and a panelist at annual American Newspaper Publishers Association Expos, and has been a guest lecturer at Syracuse University, St.Bonaventure University and Canisius College.

Cuddihy co-authored "On the Canal" with Thomas Cuddihy and Ore Marion, and he authored "The Merging of Titans" on commission from Jaeckle, Fleischmann & Mugel.

In retirement, Cuddihy is a regular contributor to the Buffalo News Book Pages, where he reviews history and current events titles.

He has traveled widely throughout Europe
