Randy Motz

Randy A. Motz could be considered a renaissance man. He has been an ASTM-certified heli-arc welder, a solar sunspace designer, carpenter, and general manager/part owner of one of the largest weighing equipment distributors in the U.S. He was a producer and marketing director for Gospel and Contemporary Christian Artists at a large Washington, D.C. recording studio, has several production credits to his name, and worked as a live sound production assistant for concerts and corporate events.

Since 2006, he has composed, recorded, and released five Native American-style flute albums and has performed over 450 concerts at various venues across the U.S. In 2023, his most recent album, “Wind, Water and Stone” received the award for “Best Flute Album of 2022” by One World Music Radio.

In 2006, he and his wife, Georgia Harris, completed a continuous 2,175-mile hike of the Appalachian Trail and then turned their creative talents to writing about their amazing adventure together. Georgia co-authored their book "The Walk - Reflections on Life & Faith from the Appalachian Trail," in which they use stories of their hike, scriptural references, inspirational quotes, and wisdom from Native Americans to draw the many parallels between “trail life” and “real life” spirituality.

Randy and Georgia, or "Windtalker & Mom," as they are known in backpacking circles, have traveled the U.S. giving presentations about their Appalachian Trail thru-hike and providing motivational talks that urge people to pursue their dreams. "Dream It! Plan It! Live It," "The Joys of Backpacking as a Couple," "Spiritual Reflections from the Appalachian Trail," and "The Care and Feeding of the Long-Distance Hiker" are just a few of the presentations made at state and national parks, churches, scout troops and professional and civic organizations.

Since 2019, they have been fulltime RVers, traveling the U.S. in pursuit of their passions for traveling, music, and photography and regularly post music videos on their Windtalker Music YouTube channel. They also present "The Windtalker Experience," a live multimedia concert featuring Randy's flute music with Georgia's beautiful landscape photos as a background.
