Joy McGuire

Joy McGuire began writing novels as a way to have some control in her life. "I loved being able to play God to my characters. I could have total power over their behavior." Then she realized that even fictional characters have a way of behaving on their own.

Her first novel won honorable mention from a Gardenia Press contest, and she won a Win-Win competition for a humorous short story titled "Beer & Tampons". Her first attempt at a romantic short was accepted for publication in Women's World magazine. Her novel, INBOX, was a quarter-finalist in Amazon's Breakthrough Novel Contest.

Her proudest accomplishments to date are her two children.

Raised without roots as an "army-brat", from her teens until recently she has resided in California's rural Central Valley. Her most cherished possessions are her laptop computer and her Kindle, a gift from her better half, Tom.

Currently she and Tom have embarked on a permanent vacation, touring the USA while living in an RV. She is currently blogging their adventures at www.rightlaners.com.
