Three job search truths I have learned over the last three decades:

1. Judge by results. Often harsh. Always fair.

2. If you can't get interviews for work you want, your education and experience won't matter

3. "Custom" works. "Generic" remains unemployed.

Finding meaningful work you want to do comes down to these two points:

1. How you CHOOSE to see yourself and present yourself, and

2. The job search tools (cover letters and résumés) you CHOOSE to present yourself.

The results of these two choices are startling and are summarized in Point # 3 above:

"Custom" works. "Generic" remains unemployed.

GENERIC 90%ERS AND MOTIVATED 10%ERS

I will not blow smoke at you by saying my D-I-Y résumé-writing system will work for everyone.

It will not work for GENERIC 90%ERS - those who quit on themselves by giving up, make excuses and rationalize (rational lies) for not following through. They are not right for my D-I-Y résumé-writing system and should not spend their money, and more importantly, their time and their energy here.

MOTIVATED 10%ERS are the opposite and are right for my system.
