Born in San Antonio, Texas, I grew up in Houston. Graduated from Cypress-Fairbanks High School, and University of Houston. Joined the U.S. Air Force, was commissioned a Second Lieutenant and sent to pilot training. That is where the fun began. I flew the T-38 supersonic trainer so well they sent me to instructor school. Later I was sent to fly the T-29 for navigator training. These were fun airplanes, one much more than the other but I had some interesting times in both. After a couple years of that, I was given an assignment to C-130s and to Clark Air Base in the Philippines. Now that was where the flying really began. I flew a mission to Hanoi, North Vietnam as part of the POW Repatriation Program, and was the aircraft commander of the new C-130 destroyed by the Vietcong while taxiing at TanSonNhut Airport in Saigon. They tried to get me. I was one of the initial airlift forces deployed for the Grenada Operation. I setup and ran the ALCC at Barbados for 48 hours straight before releief got there. All these things I've done while remembering who I am and what blessings I have received from God. I dont pretend to be something I am not, and the stories in this book are real and true. I couldn't recommend it enough, everyone needs to read these stories to see how it may fit their own life's story. Every life has a story to tell.
