James M. Lampinen

I am a cognitive psychologist and Distinguished Professor of Psychological Science at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville Arkansas. My research focuses on applications of memory research to the legal system, including topics like eyewitness testimony, false memories, and efforts to find missing or wanted persons. You can find out more about my program of research at http://fulbright.uark.edu/departments/psychological-science/

I was born in Waukegan Illinois, a city on the shores of Lake Michigan north of Chicago. When I was in the fourth grade the family moved to Libertyville Illinois where I attended Libertyville High School. I was always interested in science and initially considered a career in physics, but while receiving my undergraduate degree at Elmhurst College I decided on a career in psychology. I attended Northwestern University in Evanston Illinois where I received a masters and Ph.D. in cognitive psychology. I then spent two years at the State University of New York at Binghamton. I came to the University of Arkansas where I have been a member of the experimental psychology faculty since 1998.

I hope to have several other edited volumes and authored books published in the next several years. Keep looking!
