Jane Lodge started writing stories for her two daughters after they insisted on "just one more story, one more, pleeeeeaaase!". After coming up with something that had them mesmerized and begging for more, she decided that sitting down and writing as she had always intended might really be a good idea after all.

Jane's first published novel Black Mail was not on the original list of stories that she wrote for her daughters. Rather it evolved as a kind of self preservation work tactic, given that her creativity creates chaos if it isn't kept occupied.

Her daughters have a sneaking suspicion that all the extra hobbies Jane finds time for are really research for some secret plot. They believe the two resident Egyptian Gods (aka cats) have clearly cut a deal and are helping her out in the chaos department.

Jane is currently living and writing between Melbourne and Adelaide, Australia and is working on a young adult SciFi-Fantasy Trilogy. The first novel Callie will be ready for publication late 2011.

The next Adult fiction novel to be published along the lines of Black Mail is a book titled Tag.
