Patrick M. Lydon (b. 1981) is an American ecological artist and essayist. Born in Silicon Valley, he studied design at San Jose State University while spending life in two worlds, one as a technical writer, and the other as an artist and Arts Commissioner for the city of San Jose. In 2011 he gave away most of his belongings and began a decade of nomadic life, learning from farmers, philosophers, and monks in East Asia and then Scotland, eventually earning his MFA from The University of Edinburgh during production of the documentary "Final Straw: Food, Earth, Happiness."
He is the founder of City as Nature, and arts editor for The Nature of Cities (New York). He is married to the Korean editor and herbalist Suhee Kang, with whom he often collaborates. They lived in Osaka, Japan for several years, and currently reside in Daejeon, Korea.
