Greg Smith

Greg Smith is an agile coach, trainer, and senior project manager at GS Solutions Group. Greg specializes in practical adoption of agile techniques and methods.

During his career, Greg has held positions as a Product Manager, Program Manager, Development Manager, ScrumMaster, and Project Manager. He has received numerous awards for his work in helping start-ups establish good software practices, and for helping large enterprises overcome bureaucracy and deliver urgent projects.

Greg became an instructor for Agile Project Management at Bellevue College in 2005, and has helped hundreds of students initiate their move to a more agile process. Greg frequently goes on-site to help students build on their agile training and establish an agile lifecycle that thrives within their constraints.

Greg is highly involved with the Project Management Institute (PMI), acting as a volunteer for the PMI Agile Community of Practice.

Greg is also involved with the Agile Alliance, and will be the stage producer for the Agile Project Management stage at 2010 conference (http://agile2010.agilealliance.org/).

In addition to his agile experience, Greg has extensive experience rolling out and customizing off the shelf commercial systems. This experience includes deployment of CMS and collaboration packages. Recently Greg acted as a project manager and scrum master on the rollout of a Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server (MOSS) deployment that supported 60,000 unique users.
