"Be careful when you take the grandchildren to the bookstore!" Such was the warning from my stepchildren and the parents of two beautiful little girls. Since when had bookstores become such dangerous places for the young? They explained that many of the children's books contained violence and/or other disturbing elements such as wolves that eat children, parents that abandon their children in the woods, and witches who try to poison or eat children.

It was because of this that I began rewriting (and illustrating) the Grimm's Fairy Tales to be kinder, gentler and funny. So, I left corporate writing behind and now write whimsical tales for youngsters and the adults who read to them.

My granddaughters have assisted in the editing and recommendations for which words should be included in the glossary at the back of each book. Their parents, who are teachers had input as well.

The first three books, Little Red Riding Hood, CinderElla, and Rumpelstiltskin, will soon be followed by Snow White (a beauty pageant between and beauty obsessed diva and a pale homemaker with a passion for stenciling.)

Enjoy.
