Alex Heiphetz

Alex Heiphetz received Ph.D. in Geophysics from the University of Pittsburgh in 1994. After working for a consulting firm, he started an independent company in 1995. AHG, Inc. (www.ahg.com) specializes in business services and software for corporate and academia customers, including mobile learning, knowledge management, training simulations, audio and video production. Dr. Heiphetz authored papers that appeared in Distance Learning magazine, Training Magazine and other publications. He had been invited to speak on Second Life and its use for education and training to multiple companies, such as Lilly's, Johnson & Johnson, universities, such as California University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Heiphetz taught workshop on Second Life at Innovations in Learning conference 2007, and presented Second Life as related to corporate training on multiple conferences, such as Innovations in Learning 2007, PA Distance Learning Association, SALT (2008, 2009) and gave keynote presentation at CNY ASTD. In January of 2010 McGraw-Hill published "Training and Collaboration with Virtual Worlds" written by Drs. Alex Heiphetz and Gary Woodill. Based on their experience implementing virtual worlds training in corporate environment, authors provide unique case studies and best practices from industry leaders such as Michelin, World Bank, University of Kansas Medical Center, TMP Worldwide and others.

Dr. Heiphetz lives and works in State College, Pennsylvania.
