Suzanne M Litrel

Suzanne Litrel, Ph.D. is a historian, author, and educator. She grew up in Rome, Singapore and São Paulo, Brazil. Upon earning a degree in Economics from the University of Michigan, she moved to Taipei. She studied Mandarin Chinese, taught English as a second language, and traveled through Mainland China. Suzanne then earned an M.A. in Chinese Studies, also from the University of Michigan; two decades later, she returned to school on a teaching fellowship for a Ph.D. in History.

In the classroom and through her writing, Suzanne shares a deep appreciation for global cultures and tradition. Her work has been supported by numerous grants and fellowships, including from the NEH. She has served as an award-winning high school teacher, undergraduate survey instructor, and now teaches at Kennesaw State University’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the School of Community and Professional Education.
