Eric J. Silverman

Eric J. Silverman is Associate Professor of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Christopher Newport University. His research interests include medieval philosophy (especially the thought of Thomas Aquinas), ethics, and philosophy of religion. He earned his BA at Rutgers University and his MA from Baylor University before completing his Ph.D. at St. Louis University under the guidance of Eleonore Stump. His dissertation argued for a relationship between the virtue of love and the lover's own happiness. In addition to his scholarly writings, he has written chapters for the "Popular Culture and Philosophy" books including "Battlestar Galactica and Philosophy" and "Twilight and Philosophy."
