Arlene Jones is a native Chicagoan, a product of both the Cabrini-Green housing complex and the Chicago Public Schools. She attended the University of Illinois Chicago Circle campus where she majored in Spanish and minored in education. She has a diploma in Computer Programming.
She has worked in the insurance industry for over thirty years. She is currently the featured columnist for the Austin Weekly News where her weekly column has earned her an Illinois Press Association award. She can also be heard every Sunday on WRLL 1450AM from 10 until Midnight on the Garfield Majors Show.
Arlene Jones has lived on the WestSide of Chicago for over twenty years since purchasing a home there in the Austin community. Over those years she has been a community activist working with a variety of community groups on the great WestSide of Chicago.
She is the author of her first novel, Billion Dollar Winner. Arlene has completed her second book, Sunny and Gene and it will be available soon.
