Michael W. Taylor

Michael Taylor has had a varied career as a central banker, academic and journalist. He has worked at the Bank of England, International Monetary Fund, Hong Kong Monetary Authority and currently at the Central Bank of Bahrain where he is Adviser to the Governor. In addition, he has taught at several leading universities and is a regular commentator on the financial scene, especially through his articles for Financial World magazine. However, his most famous publication is not included in this Amazon bibliography - his 1995 paper for the Centre for the Study of Financial Innovation (a think tank based in London) entitled "Twin Peaks" - A Regulatory Structure for the New Century. This has become a standard reference in any debate on the future structure of financial regulation.

Before becoming involved in financial regulation, Michael Taylor's first love was philosophy and the history of ideas. He has written several well received books in this field, mainly on the work of the Victorian philosopher Herbert Spencer.
