Karen Mueller PT, PhD, developed the three level communication model presented in Communication from the Inside Out based on 25 years experience in teaching clinical communication to health professions students, as well as from her own research which identified communication strategies used by successful physical therapists to maintain work satisfaction and professional engagement. Communication from the Inside Out integrates current research in psychology, leadership and professional development to provide readers of all levels with self assessments, guiding exercises and helpful strategies to enhance communication in all spheres of influence.
