Professor James D Williams PhD

I received my doctorate in rhetoric and linguistics from the University of Southern California in 1983 and went on to join the faculty at UCLA, then USC, and UNC Chapel Hill. I currently am a professor at Soka University. My early work focused on teacher education and cognitive models of text processing. My more recent interests, however, have shifted to classical rhetoric. I've been fortunate insofar as I have been able to publish widely even as the field shifted away from praxis and linguistics to cultural studies, and I am listed in Who's Who in America as well as in Who's Who in the World.
