Lisa Vail

After spending ten years as an actress in New York and Los Angeles, Lisa discovered her true calling in real estate and home design after renovating her first house, a 1930's Spanish bungalow, with husband George. Bringing back the dignity and charm to this neglected home brought Lisa so much pleasure- and ultimately, a new career path! Since that first foray into home remodeling, Lisa has transformed more than a dozen fixer-uppers, from historic to mid-century modern.

This experience in renovation and real estate led to the opportunity to collaborate on "Creating Curb Appeal", co-authored with lifestyle writer Michelle Valigursky and featuring the photography of her sister Theresa Grant. This was such a fun and rewarding project to work on! Her fondest memories center around the time she spent with Theresa, wandering through neighborhoods around the country in search of exceptional curb appeal. Doing "research" for the book was the perfect excuse to travel and explore!

Sustainable building has become a passion of Lisa's and is the subject of her popular blog. Besides building a green home of her own, Lisa has been collaborating with other like-minded design and real estate professionals to make good green design accessible to everyone in her new hometown, Atlanta. There's lots of plans in the works, from affordable eco-smart house and neighborhood designs to Atlanta's first "eco" home improvement store. Also as a Realtor with Keller Williams, Lisa specializes in selling architectural properties, and is particularly sought after for her unique knowledge of modern, mid-century modern and green design.
