Donna spent many years in the field of nutrition--studied at schools in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and Northridge, Calif. She also worked in the dietetics department at Holy Cross Hospital (Mission Hills, CA) and Cottage Hospital (Santa Barbara, Ca).

After Donna became a Christian, her direction changed. She went back to school receiving a B.A. in Christian Education (Cum Laude, The Master's University); an M.A. in Biblical Studies (Summa Cum Laude, Trinity Theological Seminary), and a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies (Trinity Theological Seminary).

Donna and Brian are founders of Faith and Reason Forum, a ministry to those who want an intelligent faith--to think more deeply about God and grow deeper in their Christian faith. The site also explores reasons to believe (Apologetics), right and wrong (Christian Ethics), and the spiritual life. It also looks at aspects of Church History, as well as the beliefs of sects and world religions.

Donna and Brian have been married since 1987 and are the proud parents of two adult children.

DONNA'S WRITING MINISTRY

Many have asked Donna when her writing ministry started. While the timing isn't exact, it was around 1987 when she started writing for Pro-Life organizations. Her ministry expanded in 1994 when Donna was telling Brian about a book that needed to be written--a book on spiritual discernment. She explained to Brian her concerns over some of the problems she was beginning to see in Women's Ministries. Brian agreed with the conclusions Donna was drawing, and tried to encourage her, telling her she was "the one" to write the book.

Donna didn't agree with Brian, "No, I'm not the one to write it, but I will pray for the Lord to raise up someone for this project."

As time went on, the Lord allowed Donna to see a few more disturbing problems (such as a lack of discernment in Women's Bible studies; and a lack of Bible teaching at women's conferences). She came home one evening, rambling on about the Bible study she just attended. The main problem she observed was that the teaching was based more on human authority rather than biblical authority. A bit on the frustrated side, Donna pointed out, once again, "Someone's got to write a book!"

Brian said calmly, but with much conviction, "Donna, if the Lord wants you to write, and you're not doing it, He'll give you a spanking."

Donna finally got the point. Wanting to avoid the spankin', she got to writing, and eventually finished the project she thought someone else should write. It's titled, "Choices That Lead to Godliness" (1999, 2009), a book to help women become spiritually discerning and live a more vibrant and godly life. This book became an ECPA Runner-Up for the Gold Medallion Book Award. It was also endorsed by a multitude of people, such as Dr. John MacArthur, Beverly LaHaye, D. James Kennedy, and more. Several ministries also endorsed the book, including the Southern Baptist Association of Biblical Counselors [SBABC] ).

Donna has since written several other books. More projects are forthcoming.
