Patrick Stokes

Patrick Stokes is associate professor of philosophy at Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia. He has previously held research positions at University of Hertfordshire, University of Copenhagen, and St Olaf College. His work on selfhood, death, moral philosophy and temporality has appeared in a range of leading journals including Canadian Journal of Philosophy, Continental Philosophy Review, Inquiry, and European Journal of Philosophy.

As a broadcaster, Stokes wrote, produced, and presented the documentary 'Last Light: The Valentich Mystery' (2019) and episodes of 'The Philosopher's Zone' for ABC Radio National, and appears regularly on ABC local radio and RN. He writes for publications including New Philosopher, The Conversation, The New Daily, and Meanjin. Stokes was awarded the Australasian Association of Philosophy Media Prize in 2014.
