Note from the author: In order to generate more funds for charity, I have decided to remove Chasing Death from Amazon (and hence avoid the associated costs) and make it available solely via my website. Both the hard copy and the e-book will be available to order via http://www.chasingdeath.com
Jan Andersen, a mother of four children, has been a professional freelance writer, copywriter and editor since 1999.
Despite losing her eldest son Kristian to suicide in 2002, Jan has a positive outlook on life and has been driven to help other people as a result of this tragedy. She says, "I am determined to be a victor of circumstance, not a victim. It's not what happens to you that determines your destiny, but how you react to it."
She writes compelling and diverse commercial copy for a broad spectrum of industries and contributes informative, inspirational and often humorous articles, features and columns on a wide range of topics to online and print media around the world. She also edits and contributes to other authors' books, writes lesson plans and dissertations for clients and edits film scripts.
Jan owns and runs several websites single-handedly, all of which she also designed, including the UK's premier resource for older mothers, Mothers Over 40 (http://www.mothersover40.com) and Child Suicide (http://www.childsuicide.org), a supportive resource for families who have lost a child to suicide.
In addition to writing, Jan is also an artist, producing pastel paintings and torn paper pictures to lift the soul. In particular, she enjoys painting peaceful mountain, lake and snow landscapes.
She has participated in numerous national and international radio and TV programmes as a result of her websites and written work.
Jan lives in the UK with her partner and their youngest daughter Lauren Erica.
